Mark Dye started his life as a journalist the old-fashioned way, training on local papers and working for The Eastern Daily Press prior to university. Since then he’s travelled the world interviewing footballers, rugby players, musicians and business leaders in a career that’s spanned more than 15 years as a journalist and public speaker on a variety of issues.
He’s covered everything from The America’s Cup to the British Grand Prix and has also spent a significant amount of time as a commentator in both the business to business and consumer technology marketplace. In between, his trade has taken him as far afield as Australia and Korea where he has interviewed the likes of Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Bob Geldof, Paul Weller, Adolfo Cambiaso and The Chemical Brothers. His varied career has seen him working as a sports journalist with Hayters in London, editing The Album Chart Show and managing well-known brands such as Internet World in his capacity as Group Editor for Penton. Somewhere along the way he also found himself writing about what men really think under a pseudonym for some leading consumer titles.
Mark has worked as a copywriter on some of the world’s biggest brands for companies like MRM Worldwide, part of the McCann Worldgroup. He’s written sports features for Country magazine, lifestyle and financial pieces for Families in Business, and has regularly contributed to a number of other titles including Computing, Computer Reseller News, fsn.co.uk, Insight Quarterly, Internet World, ITPro, Mobile, Mobile News, Running Free, Stream, Talk and Tech Digest.
Mark has served as associate editor of both VanillaPlus and Wireless magazine and has an extensive knowledge of the communications space and disaster recovery markets having edited publications like Zerodowntime. He also has a wealth of experience in speaker and conference programming with large successful shows such as Internet World under his belt. In addition, he has launched magazines and e-newsletters in several difficult verticals and was instrumental in building the Carriers World brand while at Terrapinn.
As an accomplished presenter and public speaker Mark is regularly asked to sit in at our clients' board meetings advising them on their communications strategy. He leads White Label Media's media training division and is an expert on custom publishing.
